Toronto – Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC), State-owned media, on Monday released a documentary about Fano forces operation in the capital Addis Ababa.
While it was only three Fano forces who were allegedly involved in the operation, the documentary has featured dozens of “suspects” in it. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church is indirectly implicated as the “suspects” were made to say that some of the clandestine meetings were conducted in churches.
Also, an Eritrean passport is displayed in the documentary with which the government attempted to paint Fano as a terrorist organization. Again, Eritrea is indirectly implicated.
Outside of the Amhara region and Addis Ababa, a political organization operating in Wolaita is linked to the clandestine Fano movement operating in the capital Addis Ababa.
The government seems to have pushed those who are in custody to incriminate themselves by stating that they were orchestrating bomb exploits in the capital Addis Ababa. On the one hand the government claims that the Fano forces have suffered a crushing defeat and that leaders are now dispersed. On the other hand, one of the “suspect” was made to say that the purpose of the planned bomb attack in Addis Ababa was to create a conducive condition for Fano forces in Shoa to march to the capital Addis Ababa
Some see the documentary as poorly staged and does not make sense at all. Others think, government highlighted, unintendedly, what the Fano has been doing to topple the government and that it could inspire many to join Fano forces. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

I don’t want to make a premature judgment on the display of an Eritrean passport. It could be a stolen or forged one. Am I wrong, Brother Isaias?
