Fire expanding in Simien Mountains National Park

The Fire that is raging Simien Mountains is not still under control, according to a report by Amhara Mass Media Agency (AMMA) on Sunday.
Eye witnesses who traveled to the scene to support the effort to put out the fire rather it has spread to extensive area.
The labour intensive method to fight the fire is proven to be ineffective that nearly four days after it happened the fire is rather expanding to more areas in the Simien Mountains.
Federal government intervention to rescue Ethiopia’s majestic mountain chain with its endemic animals, which is one of the major tourist destinations in the country, is not happening.
It has been four days since authorities disclosed the problem. Causes of it is not yet established but authorities seem to believe that it is an act of arson.
So far 342 hectares of Simien Mountain land forest destroyed by the fire, according to authorities in the region who are in charge of the park.
If more time is wasted to deploy air spray and other forms of effective fight fighting mechanism, one of the highest mountain peaks in Africa, Ras Dashen, could lose its flora and fauna.

Africa was never meant to SAVE itself from catastrophe. It was NEVER equipped to have meaningful EDUCATION in the deepest meaning of the word. Just observe the saddest tragedy: Even Ethiopia — the ancient independent country — is NOT equipped with fire fighting organization to save its precious mountain. After the damage is done FOREIGNERS (past colonizers) will be sent to add injury to the permanent image of Africa — a Continent that was CREATED to serve as material needs of the ………………
