Ethiopia : Two TPLF security members reportedly killed in Gojjam, North Western Ethiopia

Ethiopian Satellite Television (ESAT) reported yesterday that two members of Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) ,a party running the country lurking in the sham coalition of EPRDF, are killed in Gojjam – North Western Ethiopia.

ESAT cited anonymous sources from the area. But the names of the victims is not identified.

It is to be recalled that two other members of special forces were reportedly killed in Ambo about two weeks ago.

Both Gojjam and Ambo have experience of recurrent brutal attack by government sources. At times killings unfold themselves as police response to peaceful demonstrations and at times they unfold as arbitrary loner action of intoxicated members of armed forces. For example, in May 2013 a member of security forces in Bahir Dar (Gojjam) undertook a rampage killing at least 12 people. In December 2014, at least five people were killed and more than 27 wounded when government apparently ordered to put down peaceful protest with a point of gun.

ESAT report indicated that government is conducting manhunt to capture culprits in the death of two TPLF security agents in the area.

The killings seem to have a political motive and ,in light of TPLF reckless ethno-chauvinist brutality, the action might stir similar attacks in the future.

  1. What European Union and USA embassy in Ethiopia want to say? They said “both sides should stop killing and discuss” . who is the one? They know the killer very well.
