Ethiopian gov’t says $4.2 billion in aid, loan

Toronto – Ethiopia’s Ministry of Finance on Thursday said that $4.2 billion was secured from loan and grant this budget year. It said what was planned was to secure $2.4 billion (“commitment’) and rated the ” as 171 percent of the plan. 

The disclosure came as part of the Ministry’s nine month budget performance evaluation.

This year’s revenue collection result was highlighted. According to the Ministry, it was planned to collect 356.5 billion birr in taxes and 337.9 billion birr was collected. It rated it as a 94.8 percent performance for the nine month plan and 69.6 percent performance for the entire budget year plan.
